downloading its copy of a CSS file. This is traditionally how
Stylizer has worked; the fact that it has been including the query
string when requesting CSS files (since about last October?) was
actually a bug.</p>
<p>This is a now problem for your website because (based on my
observation) your server requires a certain query string when a CSS
file is requested—otherwise a 404 error happens and the file
fails to load.</p>
<p>The reason Stylizer omits query strings is that ".css" is not an
<em>executable</em> file format, and web servers nearly always
discard the query string portion of the URL when a request is made
for a CSS file. Many themes and templates exploit this as a way of
working around browser caching issues by appending a random unique
query string to each CSS file on every page load to force the
browser to download a fresh copy of the CSS every time the page is
refreshed. This is a real problem for Stylizer because it, too,
thinks that a different CSS file is being linked upon each refresh,
and opens a new document window every time. By omitting the query
string, Stylizer ensures that CSS files which have a random query
string only open once.</p>
<p>I've opened an issue to get this addressed for you in a future
update. In the mean time, you can work around the problem by
renaming the CSS file with a file extension other than ".css".
Stylizer only omits the query string for files with a ".css"
extension, so if you change it to anything else (i.e. ".cssfile")
it should load correctly.</p></div>Andrew
