Stylizer Licensing Explained

Because licensing and authorization works differently in Stylizer than other applications, many first-time customers have questions. This article provides a brief overview of how it works.

The first time you use your product key to authorize, it becomes locked to the computer you're using. Use your key again to authorize any number of times on the same computer—whether you reinstall your OS, dual-boot into another OS, or run several OSes at the same time via virtual machine software (such as VMware or VirtualBox).

Locking Lasts 60 Days

60 days after a product key is locked, it resets automatically and you may use it to authorize a different computer. Note that once a computer has been authorized it will stay authorized forever, even if you authorize a new one 60 days later. However, if your key has been locked to a new machine, you won't be able to use it with the old one again without waiting 60 days (or contacting us for a manual reset).

This system gives you the flexibility to move to new hardware once every 60 days. Note that unlike many licensing systems, Stylizer will continue to stay authorized throughout most changes to a system (memory, hard disk, video card, even your motherboard in many situations). If you are having trouble authorizing after a hardware change, contact us directly and we will be happy to assist.

Two Machines Per Product Key

Each product key may be locked to up to two physical machines at once, so if you use two machines regularly, both can be authorized by the same product key.

Keep in mind that Stylizer never needs to be deauthorized—if you need to authorize a third machine before the 60 day period is up, simply contact us for a manual reset.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

All Stylizer licenses have a 30-day money-back guarantee, and using a product key within the first 30 days makes a temporary authorization. Assuming you are satisfied with Stylizer (and most customers are!), your authorization will be made permanent automatically after 30 days. If you do request a refund, however, Stylizer will stop working when the temporary authorization expires.

Note: Previously when authorizing two machines at once, Stylizer required one to be a "desktop" and the other to be a "laptop". This requirement was removed on June 21, 2013.
